There is certainly no denying has been a busy man over the past year, between live streaming, joining forces with Armand Van Helden for their The Answer EP and still buzzing off the release of Anti Up‘s “Sensational” new weapon, Chris Lake can now add his new single “Beat Freak” and a Black Book ID’s: Chapter 1 compilation to the mix.
Chris Lake says, “With Black Book ID’s, we’re aiming to give fans a sense of discovery, with exclusive, previously unreleased recordings from artists they love and songs from new artists that we’re excited about.”
Opening this four-track offering with a hypnotizing tech house heater which delivers a lethal dose of bounce from the mastermind behind the label, it also features club-ready weapons from Dubesque, Fourword and NightFunk‘s remix of Nicky Night Time‘s Black Book single, “Like I Don’t Exist.”
“Riva Starr hit me up on WhatsApp as he had an idea he wanted to share with me for a track,” recalls Lake. “We’ve known each other for many years, but it felt like the right time to do something together and ‘Beat Freak’ is the result.”
