A lot has changed over the past two decades in the world of electronic dance music and DJ Times has witnessed Ultra transform into the global brand it is today from the very beginning.
This March, Ultra Music Festival will be celebrating its 20th anniversary going bigger and better than ever before, but today we invite you to take a trip down memory lane with the second episode of Ultra’s informative “20 Years Of Ultra” documentary series.
With festivals being characterized by minimal production and massive crowds, 2003 and 2004 are highlighted as significant turning points for electronic music, and festival culture in America.
Where other cities across the country struggled to legally hold large electronic gatherings, Miami became a hotbed for hosting world-class talent. The incorporation of both DJs and live bands, like Rabbit In The Moon, Underworld, and Junkie XL created a truly unique atmosphere, one which is still maintained to this day.
