Philadelphia – After a bass-filled frenzy of beats and drops hammered New York’s Webster Hall two weeks ago, the ABDJ Tour rolls on – to The City of Brotherly Love and this time with a tech-house soundtrack.
Indeed, the America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Weedmaps & DJ Times will land in Philly tonight (Friday, July 7), as ABDJ nominees Sleepy & Boo are set to headline Coda. The New York-based DJ/producer team will liven up the Rittenhouse Square hotspot with a cornucopia of house and techno flavors sure to burn up the dancefloor.
Of course, DJ Times will be in the house, manning a dedicated table, handing out magazines and taking votes for Sleepy & Boo and other fan-favorite DJs. Also, leading local event photographer ArtChick will be there to capture the evening for posterity. Coda doors open at 11 p.m.
At Webster Hall this past June 30, ABDJ nominee Dieselboy (aka Damian Higgins) co-headlined the New York stop of the “Blood Sweat & Bass Tour.” Playing before Canadian dubstep DJ/producer Downlink, the Brooklyn-based Dieselboy rattled Webster’s main room with drum-n-bass bombs that had the dancefloor flailing and pogoing. Working four Pioneer CDJ units, Dieselboy kept the frenetic beats flowing and the energy at peak level. The event was a part of Webster’s Friday night “Girls + Boys” event.
And stay tuned for next week’s ABDJ tour stop: Global Dance Festival at Denver’s Sports Authority Field at Mile High. “The Biggest Summer Dance Music Event in the Rocky Mountains” will feature seven ABDJ nominees: 3lau, Deorro, Green Velvet, Herobust, Kaskade, Porter Robinson, and Z-Trip. Again, DJ Times will be there collecting votes, repping ABDJ title sponsor Weedmaps, and handing out our latest issues.
