Verboten is gearing up to celebrate the first birthday of its permanent Brooklyn home this week with a full set of anniversary programming, featuring high-profile performances and special installments of its popular culture event series.
The musical portion of the festivities kick off this Thursday, March 12 with the launch of the club’s new Verboten Live series. The inaugural edition features a very special performance from Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, a brand new project fusing a wide variety of sounds and influences. It’s a very fitting celebration, as Lazarus played Verboten’s opening night last year. In addition, the group will be joined with a live performance from San Francisco’s PillowTalk and a DJ set from Brooklyn’s own Bedouin.
Get a taste of what to expect with Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons’ first single “Lovers’ Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)” here.
