While the electronic dance music community still digests the triumphant return of Swedish House Mafia following the release of their first bit of new music since 2013 coming in the form of “It Gets Better,” the trio has already struck again with another new single “Lifetime” with Ty Dolla $ign and 070 Shake.
Stepping out of the spotlight after serving up a number of chart-topping anthems, the new chapter of Swedish House Mafia continues on with an infectious ready-ready weapon that is an absolute earwarm that is primed to dominate the remainder of the summer and beyond.
“I think this was the time where we sat down and we were just throwing ideas at each other of what kind of music we like, and this is boiling everything down to like, ‘What did we feel?’” Steve Angello told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. “We came to a place, especially with this song, you feel great. It’s like, listen to the song, put on headphones, be in the subway, drive a car, go on a fucking walk. Do whatever you want. This is going to make … it’s feels. And that’s what you said. It has substance, it’s depth.”
