Once again, this Tuesday, DJ Times takes a Twitch trip beyond its borders. This time, we cross the pond to London where we meet with the talented DJ/producer Thousand Fingers (aka Hakan Özkan).
Possessing a boundless sonic palate and a vivid imagination, Thousand Fingers takes an artistic approach to his house-leaning productions. His distinctive creative process has caught the ear of revered selectors across the globe, including &ME, Solomun, Maya Jane Coles and Miss Kittin, while receiving extensive press coverage from a variety of platforms.
Outside of the studio, Thousand Fingers has graced some of Europe’s most revered club spaces. His performance resume includes Egg, Studio 338, Ibıza Rocks Bar, Blue Marlin Ibiza Bodrum, Klein, Kloster and Supper Club, and he has played alongside Markus Schulz, Gramatik, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Jackmaster, Danny Daze, Hercules & Love Affair, Pional, Mighty Mouse and many more.
Thousand Fingers is also the founder of Follow The Fingers, a brand comprising a record label and recording studio. The FTF brand is focused on following a continuously changing style in music, aiming to soundtrack moments in people’s lives while creating memorable connections between music and experience. The record label shared its first release this past September with the “Outta Here” EP – a deep exploration of house music that brought together high-caliber names, including LouLou Players and ACAY.
After this release catapulted Follow The Fingers onto the international stage, there’s no doubt that they will be introducing new genre-fluid sounds and bringing a dramatic transformation to the global music scene in 2021. (Keep a look out for the upcoming release, “She Said,” out May 14.)
