While “alternative revenue” has been the calling card of 2020, KC Kokoruz at Keith Christopher Entertainment is making inroads with “Visit With Santa Claus” via Zoom.
During a “Visit with Santa Claus,” children visit Santa at KC’s Zoom studio at the North Pole and tell Santa what they want for Christmas. They can sing Christmas favorites with Santa, and even enjoy a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Keith Christopher Entertainment’s annual Toy Drive to help kids in need this Christmas.
DJ Times: How did you come up with the idea?
KC Kokoruz: The idea initially came to me in the shower but I dismissed it as just an idea. Then I did some research online and found some others doing something similar with horrific websites that were really not geared specifically toward an online visit with Santa Claus.
How are you generating interest?
I have done a press release through a company to over 90,000 reporters, bloggers, editors, etc and have had my press release reposted on over 200 news media websites. I have also recruited all of my female friends with kids to post about our new website and concept in the mommy driven Facebook group pages they belong to. Getting a recommendation from them is far more valuable than anything I could say. I am also running social media ads targeted toward women 21-50 years of age all over country.
What was the startup costs?
I already own an amazing Santa suit I bought 21 years ago when my brother and his wife announced she was pregnant with my nephew Will. I have also purchased a second one so that I have a backup due to sweating. I personally built the website www.VisitWithSantaClaus.com and I have purchased a DSLR camera for better quality and was able to recycle our company Christmas Tree, a green leather high back chair, and I purchased a really nice backdrop for the “Zoom Studio aka The North Pole” I would say I am still under $1,500 invested so far.
How’s the revenue?
We are on track to do roughly $20,000 plus so far. Santa Sessions come in very last minute. It feels similar to NYE tickets.
