Welcome to the November 2020 edition of “Behind the Wedding Music,” a resource to help build wedding playlists for DJs. Each month we will highlight new songs and include a line of song lyrics, a description of the song’s emotional profile, and a few fun facts — designed to help you advise a wedding couple if they’re looking for something fresh in their playlist.

Temple was on the 2017 airing of the TV show The Voice. Although she did not win, the show propelled her music career while being on Team Blake.

Fun Facts: When touring ceased due to COVIN-19 shutdowns, she returned home to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey where she worked as a nurse.
2. Forever After All
Luke Combs
(October 23, 2020)
Combs continues his streak of great wedding songs including “Better Together” and “Beautiful Crazy”.
Notable Lyrics: “They say nothing lasts forever, But they ain’t seen us together”
Fun Facts: “Forever After All” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 2, marking the highest debut ever for a song that has also appeared on Hot Country Songs by a solo male.
3. All Of My Love
Charlie Wilson feat. Smokey Robinson
(October 23, 2020)
Charlie topped the Urban Adult Contemporary chart twice earlier this year with the songs “Forever Valentine” and “One I Got”. This new love song will experience the same success.
Notable Lyrics: “Tonight, baby and every other occasion, You’re mine, girl there’s no other way to explain”
Fun Facts: Wilson was a member of the group The Gap Band. Robinson was a member of the group The Miracles.
4. Positions
Ariana Grande
(October 23, 2020)
“Positions” is a sultry love song depicting a relationship having her happily doing things to make her partner feel loved. The song already has more than 67 million YouTube views.
Notable Lyrics: “Cookin’ in the kitchen and I’m in the bedroom, I’m in the Olympics, way I’m jumpin’ through hoops, Know my love infinite, nothin’ I wouldn’t do”
Fun Facts: “Positions” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Grande the first artist with five No. 1 debuts in the chart’s history.
5. More of You
Emeli Sandé, Stonebwoy, Nana Rogues

The song captures the moment of falling in love in a joyous moment. “More of You” is an energetic song infused with a beautiful new wave of afro soul.
Notable Lyrics: “You make me so selfish, no lie, There’ll be no sharing, You’re all mine”
Fun Facts: Sandé won the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist in 2013 and 2017. British producer and songwriter Nana Rogues hits include Drake’s “Passionfruit”. Stonebwoy won the Best International Act: Africa category at the 2015 BET Awards.

Walk Off the Earth
(October 20, 2020)
A mid-tempo love song that would make a great background song for indie fans.
Notable Lyrics: Your smiling face, When you first said my name, A scene that I’ll replay a million times, And every night, I watch you close your eyes, The greatest place on earth is by your side
Fun Facts: Walk Off the Earth is a Canadien Indie band with 3.95M YouTube subscribers. The band has grown a large following by releasing covers that feature unique musical instruments and arrangements.
7. Look at Me Now
Matt Stell
(October 16, 2020)
A great wedding song because the song portrays a message of getting married and finding the love of his life.
Notable Lyrics: “I lost it the second I saw you in that dress, And your daddy was walkin’ you down, Thought I’d never do this, But look at me now”
Fun Facts: Stell’s first hit song “Prayed for You” peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. Both songs are on his recently released EP Better Than That.
8. In Your Eyes
Better Than Ezra
(October 16, 2020)
A cover to the song first released by Peter Gabriel. The song was featured in the movie Say Anything released in April 1989.
Notable Lyrics: “In your eyes I am complete, In your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches, In your eyes The resolution of all the fruitless searches”
Fun Facts: The lead singer, Kevin Griffin, took to Facebook to do LIVE stream concerts to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts and raised almost $200k in donations.
9. Stars In The Sky
Phora feat. Jhené Aiko
(October 9, 2020)
The song tells a story of falling in love with their respective soulmates.
Notable Lyrics: “Your eyes shine like the stars in the sky, you the one that make me feel alive, I just wanna be the reason why, reason why you smile all the time”
Fun Facts: “Stars in the Sky” is set to appear on Phora’s upcoming album With Love 2. Aiko’s third studio album, Chilombo, was released in March 2020.
10. Levitating (Remix)
Dua Lipa feat. DaBaby
(October 1, 2020)
In the first month of release, the song has more than 31 million views on YouTube. The video follows Dua and DaBaby as they dance and rollerblade around a giant disco-themed elevator.
Notable Lyrics: “If you wanna run away with me, I know a galaxy, And I could take you for a ride”
Fun Facts: This new version is the second official remix of “Levitating”. The first, featuring Madonna and Missy Elliott, was released in August 2020.
