In a time where we’re seeing postponement or cancellation of all live events across the globe due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Defected Records has announced a series of digital activations allowing electronic music fans to engage with the brand and each other from the comfort of their own homes.
With many artists and labels hosting live streams over the past week during this time of social isolation, Defected has revealed its first-ever Defected Virtual Festival will be taking place on Friday, March 20th. The inaugural festival was inspired by the success of live streams from Defected Croatia, Defected London FSTVL and other Defected shows worldwide.
For this event, Defected has programmed 12 hours of house music to be streamed from Ministry of Sound in London featuring a lineup that includes Simon Dunmore, Monki, Sam Divine, Low Steppa, The Shapeshifters, Melvo Baptiste, Joey Negro, Dan Shake and Darius Syrossian playing live sets. Plus, the incredible Glitterbox crew of dancers providing the dancefloor energy.
“Music and clubbing are an escape for many and, with social gatherings being rightfully restricted, we wanted to connect people online in the hope that they appreciate they are not alone,” said Defected’s owner Simon Dunmore.
The reaction to Defected Virtual Festival has been incredible and we have been inundated with DJs and performers wanting to get involved. Our thoughts will remain with everyone affected by the current situation, but believe we have a role to remain positive, and bring people together however we’re able.”
Check out the official announcement below. Defected Virtual Festival will run from 12pm-12am on both Facebook and Youtube.
