Atlantic City, N.J. — If you’re a DJ looking for inspiration, DJ Expo has you covered. As a part of its renowned “Keynote Q&A” series, DJ Expo 2019 with DAS Audio will present DJ legend, Z-Trip, who will detail his considerable career highlights and offer advice for pros and upstarts alike.
Set for Aug. 12-15 at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., DJ Expo will share plenty of money-making ideas through its deep slate of seminars, plus the latest technologies in its exhibit hall and loads of fun with its sponsored evening events. And this “Keynote Q&A” session expects to be among the most-special DJ Expo has ever presented.
Z-Trip… where to start? The accomplishments for the famed turntablist/mash-up artist/producer are voluminous. “Uneasy Listening, Vol. 1,” Z-Trip’s seminal 2001 collaboration with DJ P, became the template for the mash-up movement. In 2009, he was voted America’s Best DJ. He’s been performing with LL Cool J for the past decade and recently had a hand in launching Rock The Bells Radio on Sirius XM. He’s collaborated with top acts like Public Enemy, Bassnectar, Beck, Travis Barker and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine. In 2012, he collaborated with Rane and Serato in launching his signature 62-Z mixer.
He’s maintained a Las Vegas residency. He’s entertained American troops abroad and has opened for The Rolling Stones. He’s composed original score music for EA Games, is an avatar in the DJ Hero series and was featured prominently in the 2001 documentary, Scratch. He’s remixed songs for acts as diverse as Nirvana, Bob Marley, Beastie Boys, Daft Punk, Linkin Park, Butthole Surfers, and Rush.
Be at Harrah’s on Aug. 13 for the hour-long session, wherein Z-Trip will be interviewed by DJ Times editor Jim Tremayne — then he will take questions from DJ Expo attendees. Don’t miss this informative and entertaining session, as Z-Trip will offer a look back on where the DJ game once was and a look forward to where it’s headed. Tech, talent, trends — Z-Trip will cover it all, and he won’t shrink from any topic. Bring your best questions!
