There must be something in the water overseas because there seems to be no shortage of surprisingly young Dutch talent. We saw it when Martin Garrix originally emerged onto the scene at the age of 17 and now their latest Dutch DJ phenomenon (who also started his career inking a deal with Spinnin’ Records) has struck again delivering his much anticipated second single.
Trobi has connected with UK singer Stevie Appleton for “Never Let You Down,” a colorful reggae inspired tune that features an abundance of tinged pop vibes that is sure to be a staple in this summer’s soundtrack.
“Stevie and I met each other last year during a writerscamp at the ADE. Two months later we started to work together in my studio near Rotterdam, made the demo for this record in about one day and recorded it on a shitty $50 microphone. ‘Never Let You Down’ is a track with the tropical sounds and chill/relaxing pop vibes I like so much. Add to that Stevie’s smooth vocals and you get, in my eyes, my best release so far!” – Trobi
