Dublin-based techno maven Matador is starting 2016 in a big way, as he is launching his new imprint Rukus with a four-track EP on February 15.
The new EP is led by title track “The Enemy,” a sinister, late-night techno cut featuring Felix Da Housecat. With its hazy atmosphere and relentless drum pattern, the track is primed to soundtrack many a crowded dancefloor in the coming months.
The Rukus label signals a move away from Matador’s familiar home amongst the Minus and ENTER. Family, allowing the Irish producer and live performer a chance to further explore his distinctive style. Describing the label as a new outlet to release his own music alongside collaborations, remixes, and other projects, Matador looks poised and ready to take 2016 by storm.
“We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about something that fit cohesively alongside my Matador work, and Rukus just clicked – it’s a commotion, which pretty much describes what we’re trying to achieve.”
