Sharing music to Facebook has changed once again with the site’s launch of Music Stories.
Beginning today, songs and albums shared from “leading music services” will automatically become Music Stories, a new post format that allows users to listen to a 30-second preview of the shared track directly from the Facebook iPhone app. Depending on the source of the link that’s shared, the preview will be streamed from either Apple Music or Spotify, and friends and fans can purchase the track from or save it to the respective streaming service.
The new experience allows users to engage with music platforms without having to leave Facebook, a move that the site hopes will “better music discovery and sharing on Facebook.” Music Story support will be expanded with additional streaming services in the future.
