Users of Pioneer DJ’s rekordbox music management software will soon be able to perform without the need of any other programs with the announcement of rekordbox dj.
Now, in addition to set preparation like adding cues, loops, and tags, users can now simply plug a controller into their laptops and begin spinning straight from rekordbox. No longer does a DJ need to transfer their library into other software, as rekordbox dj is packed with all of the usual performance tools, including Hot Cues, Sampler, Slicer, Sound Colour FX, Beat FX, Beat Jump, and Pad FX.
The rekordbox dj GUI mirrors the layouts of Pioneer DJ’s controllers, giving DJs intuitive control over their performances. The software boasts the “Industry’s lowest latency” as well as superior sound quality, ensuring a reliable performance via a low CPU load. Users also have the option of splitting the GUI into two screens (one for browsing and one for performance), with each screen featuring a variety of viewing settings.
Additionally, the software will also be bundled with Pioneer DJ’s just-announced DDJ-RZ and DDJ-RX controllers. Each controller mirrors the rekordbox dj layout, with performance pads, jog-wheels, and a four-channel mixer. For more information on both, head here.
Users can either subscribe to rekordbox DJ or purchase the Plus Pack from inside the software beginning October 1, while the 4.0 update for rekordbox will continue as a free download. For a full list of products supported and more information on the software, go here.
