Legendary turntablist Rob Swift is prepping the release of his first hip-hop album in six years, and he’s asking fans to help him in the endeavor with a Kickstarter campaign.
X-Files: Lost & Deleted is a collection of rare, remixed, and reinterpreted songs from Swift’s archives, with appearances from The Large Professor, Quest, KutMasta Kurt, and more. The LP serves as more than just a “best-of” album, with Swift promising fans “a collection of fresh and new takes on [his] best work.”
Fans can jump in on the album creation process by donating to the ongoing Kickstarter campaign to help fund the production, mastering, manufacturing, and promotion of the album. Backers who donate at varying levels of support can receive special rewards from Rob Swift himself, from an online shout-out and a digital download of the record all the way to autographed album copies and personal scratching lessons. Over $6400 has already been of the $10,000 goal with 22 days left to go as of press time.
