Image-Line has released the 12th edition of its long-running FL Studio production software.
The new update—available for free to existing FL Studio users—implements a slew of new performance features. FL Studio Fruity Edition now has Automation Clips, while the Producer Edition now features Sytrus & Maximus and the Signature Bundle has received Harmless, Newtone, Gross Beat, and Pitcher.
FL Studio is now equipped with a vectorial UI, allowing crisp display on 4K, 5K and 8K monitors. The mixer has been redesigned and is now dynamically resizable, boasting six layout styles, three user-configurable docking panels, and multi-fader selection and adjustment. Mixer track grouping has been improved, and there are now 10 FX slots per track. 32 & 64-bit VST plugins are better supported with increased stability and compatability, and the FL Studio Plugin Scan tool now allows unlimited VST search locations and quick favoriting.
Time markers have been adding for both labeling and looping purposes, and auto-zoom can now be turned off from the General Settings menu. A new Stamp tool has taken the place of the Chord tool, letting users click in chords from a selector. The Browser has also received a fair amount of upgrades, including an improved layout with user-configurable category tabs and enhanced file management with right-click delete options for most content.
