Stephen Colbert ‘Gets Unlucky’ After Daft Punk Cancels Performance
It seems that Stephen Colbert got Daft Punk’d. Despite Colbert’s announcement last week that the French duo would appear on his show on Tuesday for its first live performance since the release of Random Access Memories, the robots failed to appear on yesterday’s program. Colbert said at the start of the show that the pair would not be performing, as they were booked for a surprise performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24th. Additionally, he was made aware of this until 2 PM the day before the scheduled appearance, leaving his “StePhest Colbchella ’13” feature without a headliner.
See what Colbert had to say below:
Luckily, Colbert managed to wrangle up a set of friends—including Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Bryan Cranston, among others—to help fill in for the elusive Daft Punk.
