Skrillex @ Marquee New York – 9.4.2014

With an expansive US tour just weeks away, Skrillex treated New York City ravers to an unforgettable performance at a very special Thursday show at Marquee Nightclub last week.

The crowd—packed in well before Skrillex’s set time at 1:30—was treated to a hip hop set from Los Angeles native DJ Mustard, who blazed through both seminal hits and edits in addition to some well-timed (and well-received) Top 40 moments like Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy.”

Taking to the decks at 1:30, Skrillex played to an enraptured crowd with a deft mix of both old and new. The big hits like “Bangarang” and “Breakn’ A Sweat” drove the crowd into a frenzy, while diverse cuts from his recent Recess LP—“Fuck That” particularly—proved to be certified dancefloor slayers.
