Shure Launches Third Annual ‘Get The Gig’ Internship Competition

Microphone and audio electronics manufacturer Shure is giving one lucky college student the opportunity to intern in the company’s Artist Relations department with the launch of the third annual Get The Gig competition. Open to junior or senior college students and class of 2013 graduates, the Get The Gig Intern competition will find a new intern to help manage Shure’s relationships with outside artists and bands, including both product and technical support to assist their front of house, monitor, and studio engineers. The three-month internship will also include social media, event coordination, and potential talent signing tasks.

Interested applicants will participate in three rounds of selection. The first—due January 31—consists of an online application and resume submission in addition to a 140-character Tweet detailing why the applicant deserves the internship, while the 20-person second round incudes a video auditon and 250-word essay/blog post. Finally, the top three candidates will travel to the Shure headquarters in Niles, IL for a final round of in-person interviews with individuals of the company’s Artist Relations, Marketing, and Human Resources departments.
