SFX Entertainment Officially Acquires Made Event

By  |

Live event producer SFX Entertainment has officially completed its purchase of Made Event, the company behind New York’s Electric Zoo festival. This deal comes hot on the heels of SFX’s recent IPO and its announcement of its purchase of ID&T. In addition to Randall Island’s Electric Zoo, Made Event is responsible for the Governor’s Beach Club concert series, Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance 600 Madison Square Garden performance, and recent shows from Hardwell and Benny Benassi.

SFX takes full ownership of Made Event from this deal, contrary to earlier reports stating they would hold a 70% stake. SFX Chairman and CEO Robert Sillerman described the decision when he said:

“The acquisition of Made is strategically important for SFX, as it establishes a strong foothold for us in the New York City region… We plan to develop the Electric Zoo brand internationally and have the opportunity to build other SFX brands in the U.S. with the support of Mike, Laura and the team at Made.”
