Richie Hawtin is taking the final prototypes of his much-anticipated PLAYdifferently mixer project on the road this spring with his high-profile DJ associates for a series of showcase events.
Kicking off at Los Angeles’ Sound nightclub on Monday, March 14, the Prototypes tour will feature stops at London’s Fabric, Berlin’s Watergate, and Brooklyn’s Output across its 13 dates. Additionally, the tour will host stages at both Detroit Movement and Amsterdam Awakenings festivals on May 28-30 and June 28 respectively. Along the way, Hawtin will be joined by a smattering of techno’s finest acts, including Carlo Ruetz, Chris Liebing, Cinthie, Diego Krause, DJ Tennis, Dubfire, Ean Golden, Fabio Florido, Francois K, Hito, Joris Voorn, Joseph Capriati, Loco Dice, Maceo Plex, Matrixxman, Matt Karmil, Mike Servito, Nastia, Paco Osuna, Roi Perez, The Martinez Brothers, tINI, and Whyt Noyz.
Announced at NAMM this past January, PLAYdifferently is the result of Hawtin’s collaboration with famed product developer Andy Rigby (formerly of Allen & Heath) and sees the pair combining their expertise to create new instruments for the electronic music market.
