Rave Photographer Hopes to Bring Dancefloor Thunder with Kickstarter Campaign

By  |

Photographer Michael Tullberg hopes to challenge the current era of digital rave photography with his Kickstarter campaign to publish his coffee table book of rave photography, DANCEFLOOR THUNDERSTORM, Land Of The Free, Home Of The Rave. DANCEFLOOR THUNDERSTORM aims to provide readers an in-depth look into the rave culture of Southern California, with its subjects including shots of Paul Oakenfold, Moby, Fat Boy Slim, Carl Cox throughout the years of the scene’s peak. Tullberg hopes to aim $95,000 to cover the printing of the book, with hopes of self-publishing the book through his own publishing house, 5150 Publishing, in spring of 2014. In addition to preordering the book with a $60 donation, backers for the book’s Kickstarter campaign can receive a variety of perks, from receiving a 5×7” photo print for a $10 donation to having a personal Skype Photo Seminar with the author for $200 donations.

Potential backers can get more information about the book at DanceFloorThunderstorm.com and donate at the project’s Kickstarter page. Act fast, though, as the campaign’s deadline is Thursday, January 2.
