Pioneer to Unveil Bedroom Secrets at DJ Expo
Can the bedroom DJ now claim technical parity with the Paul Oakenfolds of the world?
If a trainwreck occurs in the bedroom of some slouch DJ and nobody hears it, did it actually happen?
Ponderous, indeed. But Pioneer Electronics thinks it has the answer to at least one of these questions, and at the DJ Expo, beginning August 16 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, on the sold-out exhibit floor, the company will launch its latest digital media player, the CDJ-850.
According to Pioneer senior marketing manager David Arevalo, the aim of the CDJ-850 is “to ensure that DJs get to enjoy similar innovative features and design to those found in our flagship CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 players, and get to experience the best product for their needs.”
To that end, the CDJ-850 incorporates the DJ music management software “Rekordbox,” which allows DJs to analyze music files’ Wave, Beat Grid, BPM, and ID3 Tag, to create cues and loop settings and edit playlists.
