Newest Recession-Buster: Make your Colleagues Sick
The DJ business has been recovering nicely, thank you, with bookings on the increase in the last few months, fewer last-minute bookings, and a holiday season not nearly as anemic as last year. But different regions have reported different ways to pump up the volume. One DJ in New Jersey we spoke with claims that joining the BNI [Business Networking International]—an organization that gathers a wide range of professionals within a region for “networking slams”—has changed his game.
“What you want to do is keep your face in front of people,” says Rick Goldenberg, from DJ Connection. “Sometimes, the same people will be seeing you time and time again, but quite frankly, you want them to get sick and tired of seeing you.”
