NASCAR Comes to DJ Expo?
The Ford Mustang makes its NASCAR debut tomorrow night at the Subway Jalapeno 250 in Daytona. Ford has issued an incentive to Mustang drivers: if a Mustang wins the race, the driver will receive a brand-new 2011 Mustang GT with the new 412hp 5.0-liter engine.
That’s bitching, but NASCAR has nothing over the DJ brain trust at Chicago-based Carey Smolinski Productions, whose booth at this year’s Temple Shows has its own mitzvah-booking octane.
“We try to top whatever we did the last year,” says Shani Barnett. “It wasn’t Dance Dance Revolution that people have already seen, or the Money Booth that people have already seen, this year we definitely hit upon something unique.”
This year’s “unique”? “The racing car,” she says, “and it really differentiated us from the others. We have a DJ who’s video mixing up on a little stage and we made a faced front-board out of the front of a corvette, so he was in the corvette car, and we had dancers dressed in racing gear; we also had a mini racing car and we put our logo on the car, and the owner of the car was there and we had kids take pictures inside the car. We also have a wii station set up, so while the kids are doing that, that’s when we try to attack the parents, and get their attention while the kids are in the car or watching video.”
Why not offer a brand-new 2011 Mustang GT with the new 412hp 5.0-liter engine to any client that books?
Shani will be speaking at the International DJ Expo. Come hear her.
