Moog Music Announces Moogfest’s Biennial Plans

By  |

Asheville, NC’s Moogfest debut its rebooted Spring event this past April, and Moog Music has now announced that the festival will shift to become biennial.

The next Moogfest will take place in 2016, with Moog Music citing an effort to maintain the event’s authenticity as a reason behind the change. Much of this year’s festival was planned at Moog Music itself, just upstairs from where the company hand-builds its revered synthesizers.

Moog Music President and CEO Mike Adams explained the decision, saying:

“Moogfest 2014 was a proof of concept so we could experiment with a new business, a unique format, and a new creative direction. Producing Moogfest every other year allows us to retain the high level of innovative programming as well as the originality and independence we established in 2014.”

Additionally, this change will serve to maintain the “financial and spiritual health of Moog Music and its employees,” which will allow them to keep their focus on synthesizer production.
