Korg Announces Development of New ARP Odyssey Synth

By  |

Korg has unveiled the development of an update to its legendary ARP Odyssey analog synthesizer, due out later this year. The new ARP Odyssey aims to faithfully recreate the famed synthesizer, which became a staple for both recording and performing musicians of the 1970s due its unique sound until its retirement in 1981.

As part of the development, Korg has brought on David Friend—former ARP Instruments, Inc. president and lead designer of the original Odyssey—as chief advisor for the new ARP Odyssey.

The ARP Odyssey is currently slated for release in September. An image of the prototype is above. For more information, go to Korg.com
