January has come and gone, which means 2014 is officially in full swing. Celebrate the New Year again this weekend with our five favorite free downloads of the week!

Lucky Date’s electro makeover of Icona Pop’s new single “Just Another Night” leads the pack. The original—a rare subdued moment from the Swedish pop duo—is turned upside down by crashing jolts of electricity and chainsaw synths that prime this one for club use.

Triad Dragons delivers a similar brand of explosive EDM with “Fire,” though they draw upon more of a progressive house sound. Following a melodic build showcasing a symphonic flair, the track delves into a burning barrage of punching synth stabs.

Starkillers is offering up a free rework of his 2012 single, “Keep It Coming,” featuring Nadia Ali. Sanding down the track into a silky slice of sunshine, the remix takes full advantage of Ali’s seductive vocals.

Atlanta-based trap duo Heroes x Villains has unleashed a free EP entitled Chapel this week. Released in conjunction with a +Chapel+ audio/visual art installation, the EP shows a new side of the duo. Their signature bass-heavy aesthetic is still at the core, but a grander vibe and more gripping moments present themselves on tracks like “Locust,” and in the intro, “Pestilence.”

Rounding out this week’s selections is “#Heavy,” Crookers’ new single that demonstrates just how diverse the now-solo act’s output can be. The new track showcases an uncharacteristic tech-house style, with deeper drums and a heavy use of chopped-and-screwed vocal samples. (NSFW warning: a particular sample around the three minute mark may have you scrambling for your headphones if you’re listening while at work…)
