French producer Freak You kicks off this week’s picks with “There You Are,” a dreamy tech excursion. Featuring the emotive vocals of DJ/artist Bright Light Bright Light, the track is reminiscent of Hot Chip’s glittering productions with its throbbing, melody-rich approach. Jamie Jones’ remix of French rockers Phoenix’s track “Chloroform” is a similarly wistful trip, with light guitar strums and airy synths ripe for a late-night lounge atmosphere.

Sound Remedy and Kill Paris team up with Alma for the atmospheric “Avalanches.” The wispy, ethereal vocals set the stage for grinding bass amidst glacial a soundscape. Tommy Trash is offering up his bootleg of Tiga and Cubic Zirconia with “Darko’s Hot in Here.” Taking a vocal track that interpolates the infamous “It’s gettin’ hot in here / so take off all your clothes” lyric and layering it over a pulsing electro house, the end result is a clever and well-executed mix that is sure to work any crowd.

America’s Best DJ 2013 Kaskade resurrects a lost gem with his extended edit of his track “Samba Love.” Remixed for use on his Redux shows earlier this year, the track is a chilled-out slice of deep house. It’s a far cry from the anthemic progressive house of “Atmosphere,” but it’s no less of a musical feat.
