New month, new tunes. November is upon us, meaning that holiday decorations will soon take over every square inch of stores everywhere. Embrace the beginning of festive season with gifts from us in the form of five free tracks as part of this week’s #FreePlayFriday. This week’s picks cover everything from minimal house to dirty trap, so there’s a little bit of something for everyone!

Festival season may be over, but Kaskade’s explosive mashup of his hit “Turn It Down” with Animal Garrix’s “Animals” will conjure up the best memories of the year’s biggest mainstage sets. While Garrix’s track has been played countless times over the past six months, Rebecca & Fiona’s vocals add an emotive touch that freshens it up. London’s OVERWERK provides a similar electro house fix with “Conquer,” replete with slimy acid basslines and intricate synth work that will keep anyone on the floor.

Annie Mac has unleashed Belfast producer EJECA’s deep house remix of Bloc Party’s “Montreal” as a free download. Minimalism is the name of the game here, as distorted vocal clips and garage-inspired basslines slide over a slinky, entrancing groove. Pyramid’s remix of buzzing singer Thomas Azier’s “Ghostcity “is a similarly restrained jam. However, despite the track’s initially low-key opening, Azier’s vocals later become the basis for a stuttering electro peak placed over emotive piano keys.

Whiite rounds out this week’s picks with his Halloween-inspired Nightmares EP, available for free on his Soundcloud. While the release features a little bit of everything, including electro house and techno, the highlight is the trap opener “Ol Black Magic.” Fusing lo-fi vocal samples with rap repetitions and relentless hi-hats, Whiiite delivers a twerk-worthy track regardless of the season.
