#FreePlayFriday – 1/10/2014

Even though Fridays are great on their own, they can be made even greater with a solid set of music. For this week’s #FreePlayFriday, we’ve got five free tracks that are sure to get you moving, whether it’s in a club or in your own home.

MAKJ celebrates reaching 200,000 Facebook fans with “Mad Max,” an electro house puncher ripe for festival play with its thrusting drop, winding synths, and relentless pace. Firebeatz has released the Doge-inspired “Woof” in honor of reaching the same fan milestone on Facebook. The pulsing electro track is centered around a slow build structure that very gradually raises the energy level before chomping bass blasts explode out of the cyclical synths.

D/R/U/G/S is offering “Welcome to Planet Earth” as a teaser for Echorave, a collection of unreleased and experimental tracks from the British producer due out this month. The free single is an entrancing tech journey filled with dreamy soundscapes and hissing bass. Lone’s “Dream Ache” is a similarly ethereal affair, with tribal drums and a tropical breeziness padding out its drum machine hits and light trap elements.

LA producer CRNKN rounds out this week’s picks with “Heart.” Revolving around a heavily distorted vocal hook, the trap track gradually builds upon itself with new percussion variations added in succession. The track’s transforms itself from a slow minimalistic bass with the addition of flanger-laced laser effects, steel drum-inspired synths, and high-pitched chirps creating a slinky trap package.
