Freddy Todd bares his glitchy soul on Golden Tremendous, his new LP out now for free via Gramatik’s Lowtemp imprint.

Spread across nine tracks, Golden Tremendous sees the Detroit-born, Oakland-based explore the low end of the sound spectrum through a variety of lenses. Submersed initially in hip-hop and glitch with album opener “Fastenator, Get Up” and follow-up “Let Me (awesome),” Todd showcases intricate sound design and unique syncopations. The deeper cuts of the album—including the classical piano/drum and bass hybrid “The Jestler” and jazzy soul cut “Tread Jello”—prove to be just as strong, with deft production work and quirky soundscapes begging for repeated listens.
