Eric Prydz Wins BBC Radio’s Essential Mix of the Year

By  |

Eric Prydz now has another reason to take pride in 2013, as his BBC Radio One Essential Mix was named the best of the year by a panel of Radio One personnel. Prydz’s Essential Mix—initially broadcast February—beat out over 65 over DJs for the title, including Skrillex, Diplo, Disclosure, and Claude VonStroke, and joins Nico Jaar, who won 2012’s honor. His mix is a two-hour tour de force showcasing his multiple aliases—Eric Prydz, Pryda, and Cirez D—in addition to artists like Jeremy Olander from his Pryda & Friends label. Throughout the mix, Prydz throws down a slew of unreleased material and his big releases of the year, including “Power Drive” and “Drums in the Deep.”
