Electric Zoo Returning to New York City This August; Tickets on Sale Next Week
Made Events has confirmed the return of Electric Zoo to New York City’s Randall’s Island this Labor Day Weekend from August 29-31. This announcement comes following a public discourse about the safety of the event, which had its final day cancelled last year following the death of an attendee.
After working with City of New York and New York City Department of Parks & Recreation officials, organizers have announced that this year’s festival will include heightened security and safety measures. These new protocols include an increased presence of plainclothes undercover security officers and drug-sniffing canines, shortened hours each day, and unlimited free water and low-cost electrolyte drinks for attendees.
Co-CEOs of Made Event and creators of Electric Zoo Mike Bindra and Laura De Palma expressed their feelings on the opportunity to bring the festival back to New York City, saying:
“We are incredibly excited to bring Electric Zoo back to New York… Over the past five years, Electric Zoo has grown tremendously, becoming a critically acclaimed, internationally recognized music festival. The opportunity to again host Electric Zoo on Randall’s Island is a responsibility we take seriously, and we look forward to expanding our safety and security measures in order to further improve the concert experience for our fans.”
Tickets for the festival will go on sale on Tuesday, April 29, with its lineup and festival guide expected to be released in the coming months. For more information, go to ElectricZooFestival.com.
