Get Lost Mexico City 2018 was another one for the history books. Taking place this pastNovember 1st, 2018, at Lomas Atlas Garden in Mexico City, DJs Damian Lazarus, Felix Da Housecat, Serge Devant, &Me, Magit Cacoon, and Robbie Akbal graced the decks for a full twelve hours of Día de Muertos mayhem. After the event, we caught up with Serge Devant after his set for a quick chat about Get Lost, Crosstown Rebels and more.

What does your DJ setup consist of?
Its simple. I only bring my music files with me. Everything else is standard: CDJs, Allen & Heath, etc.

How would you compare your Get Lost set in Mexico City to your set in Miami this year?
They were two completely different sets but with a similar vibe. I like to play fun, groovy, and trippy.

What are your favorite aspects of Mexico City?
I have been many times and I played Get Lost Mexico City in 2017, too. The city is great, so vibrant, so alive, with great food and people. It always charges me up and whenever I leave I can’t wait to make it back.

Who were some of your favorite DJs at Get Lost Mexico City?
Sets by &ME and Damian always excite me… We play together often and they surprise me every time with totally different sets. Tracks are never repeated, and the vibes are always different and exciting. You never know what you will get served but its always good and tasty!

You’ve been a long-time resident of New York City. What’s your favorite nightclub that is currently open for business in NYC, as well as one that has closed?
The Brooklyn Mirage (a.k.a. Avant Gardner) is by far one of the best venues in America right now, and definitely in NYC. That team is really passionate about their club and they put a lot of soul into that venue. It really comes across.

You have the lead remix of “Feedback Loop” on Crosstown Rebels. What’s it been like working with Damian over the years?
It’s been really great; we have a really great relationship and now friendship. His label is a perfect home for me that lets me explore my creative sides and not be pigeonholed into one style. I love that. Additionally, Crosstown Rebels is a very well respected and a great platform. Everyone on that team works hard, with passion, and you feel it.

How did the collaboration come about on “Feedback Loop”?
Damian found me through our mutual friend who sent him some of my music. He contacted me and we hit it off instantly. It’s been around 3 years now since we began collaborating, and it’s been going really well with many more plans together in the future.

DJ Times Readers: Did you miss Get Lost Mexico City this year? Fear not, as the next big Crosstown Rebels event, Day Zero Festival 2019, is coming up soon: this January 2019 in Tulum, Mexico.
