But after spending much of the festival’s initial afternoon at Randall’s Island—it runs through Sunday—we’ll head over to Manhattan’s West Side for a little Marquee afterparty—and the final regular tour stop of America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ & DJ Times.
Lucky for us and Marquee-goers, we’ll get a dose of proper house music with ABDJ nominees Dennis Ferrer and Sleepy & Boo working the decks. Expect an evening of deep grooves and soulful vocals, not to mention a bumpin’ dancefloor. Of course, DJ Times will be there taking ABDJ votes, giving fans a chance to support their favorite nominated DJs and potentially win the big prize.
Remember, at ABDJ tour stops and online, voters are automatically entered to win a trip for two to Las Vegas for the ABDJ Award Ceremony/Closing Party at the Marquee Nightclub, set for Oct. 13. And fans who Like America’s Best DJ on Facebook or Follow America’s Best DJ on Twitter are automatically entered to win prizes from Pioneer DJ and DJ Times.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Online voting ends Monday night at 11:59 pm, so fans will want to cast their ballots soon if they want to win that Vegas trip.
It’s been a crazy summer, one that’s seen the tour go coast to coast and hit spots from the Upper Midwest to the Deep South. We’ve been fortunate to participate in festival massives like Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival and Detroit’s Movement and visit superclubs like L.A.’s Avalon and intimate venues like Philadelphia’s Rumor. Through it all, we’ve enjoyed our time with the DJs, the fans, the promoters and the people working the venues, and we thank them all for their cooperation and hospitality.
So, who’s going to be a winner? Next week, we’ll pull the name of one lucky fan, who will get to take a friend to Vegas for all the closing festivities. We’ll also tabulate the ballots and reveal who is America’s Best DJ 2013.
