If you were anywhere near the vicinity of Las Vegas this past week, odds are that you heard Martin Garrix’s track “Animals” at some point. The single, a natural main-stage anthem with a huge synth lead and tribal drop, was played in sets across Electric Daisy Carnival and clubs across town before finally hitting the No. 1 spot on the Beatport Top 100 on Monday. This feat—achieved in one week—makes 17-year-old Garrix the youngest artist to ever hit the top spot on the chart.
