Electric Daisy Carnival 2013 has come and gone, but the live sets that have begun to trickle out from it will live forever. One of particular note came from Clockwork over at the Circuit Grounds tent, with a reported 15,000 festivalgoers in attendance. Clockwork, whose other alias RL Grime is a nominee for America’s Best DJ 2013, focused mainly on high-octane, high-energy tracks, dropping dance bomb after dance bomb.
Utilizing both crowd pleasers like Knife Party’s “EDM Death Machine” and new tracks and exclusives, such as GTA’s mix of Kylie Minogue and Nom De Strip’s collaboration “Skirt,” Clockwork fully packed his hour-long set. There were some especially clever bootlegs and mash-ups of festival stalwarts throughout, including “Wakanda” mashed up with Empire of the Sun’s “Walking On A Dream” and “Toulouse” segues throughout “Crush On You.” It’s also worth noting the slower, trap-based section of the mix in which his RL Grime persona takes over, playing a brand new mix of “Reload” by Tommy Trash and Sebastian Ingrosso in addition to his classic remix of “Satisfaction” by Benny Benassi.
