Las Vegas—A large portion of the entertainment lighting industry visited the Las Vegas Convention Center for the LDI Show this past weekend. With exhibitions running Oct. 19-21, LDI’s showfloor saw plenty of new products for theatrical staging, television/film studios and live concerts.
But, as always, LDI visitors saw product debuts of lighting gear for club and mobile-DJ applications as well. Here are a few of them:
Los Angeles-based manufacturer American DJ debuted: Mega QA Par38, a compact Quad-Color LED par that brings color to uplighting, wall-washing and stage-lighting apps; Jelly Par Profile, an RGB LED wash fixture that comes in a transparent glowing case; FREQ 5 and FREQ 16 Strobe, two innovative LED-powered strobe lights that are two FX in one—a traditional LED strobe and a 5-zone or 16-zone chase effect; and X-Move LED 25R, an LED color/gobo moving head effect that’s twice as bright as its predecessor, the X-Move LED Plus.
Kent, Wash.-based OmniSistem showed: the DJ Facade line, which includes the OS-1235, a 250 SMD LED cover for your gear; the OS-1233 48 RGBA LED fixture; and the OmniFold Table, a “no-tools-required” table for mobile DJs.
Sunrise, Fla.-based Chauvet Lighting hit it hard as well with a slew of debuts. They include: Intimidator Beam LED 350, a compact and feature-packed 75-watt moving head beam unit that can be converted to a wash unit—two effects in one; TRUSST, a trussing system built for mobile or club applications; MegaStrobe FX12, effect/strobe light; and the DJ MegaStrobe FX12 effect and strobe light.
