America’s Best DJ 2011: More Winners Announced

Vegas’ Marquee will host ABDJ closing event.

Vegas’ Marquee will host ABDJ closing event.

Las Vegas—As we continue to congratulate Kaskade for being voted America’s Best DJ 2011, we also look forward to the America’s Best DJ Closing Party/Award Ceremony on October 9th at Marquee in Las Vegas

Additionally, as is the ABDJ tradition, we have another winning fan—Jordan Osten of Minneapolis, Minn. As an America’s Best DJ voter, Osten was randomly chosen to attend the Vegas event. Osten cast her vote this past July 22 at the legendary First Avenue club during Bassgasm4, one of the 22 events on the America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ.

Turns out, Osten, 21, is more than an EDM fan—she’s a working DJ. As one-half of the female DJ duo Dirty Talk (with Monica Farr), Osten will see the release of an original dubstep/drumstep EP on Oct. 10 on Reid Speed’s Play Me label. Talk about good timing… Congratulations, Ms. Osten, and we’ll see you in Vegas!

So Skrillex, who’s sets are ableton sets and not DJ sets gets voted 2nd best DJ? Pauly D gets voted higher than Craze and Cut Chemist? Sounds like this isn’t an “Americas best DJ” list and more of a “Which names the idiots who voted can remember” list.

…Except Skrillex doesn’t ‘DJ’, he just clicks play and chainsmokes the entire time.

Granted, he’s a great PRODUCER, but NOT a great DJ.

  • Blah

Really? No Excision? And Skrillex number 2? He can’t even DJ. Cool story.

How can you sleep at night when you put DJ Pauly D at number 11.
