Frankfurt, Germany—We’re here at Musikmesse, through April 9 at Messe Frankfurt’s Exhibition Grounds, the massive trade show and exhibition for musical instruments and pro-audio, and it’s pretty clear where the DJ sector of the M.I. retail market is going. Here are the highlights.

Novation’s Twitch: In collaboration with Serato, Novation has released Twitch, a multi-purpose DJ controller/audio interface. Bundled with Serato ITCH DJ software, the unit features Touchstrip controls that afford the DJ unique uses of ITCH’s new performance tools. Twitch can also be MIDI-mapped to other software like Ableton Live and Native Instruments Traktor. The bus-powered unit’s control surface includes two banks of eight large Triggerpads, crossfader and per-channel Fader FX. It includes 2-in, 4-out USB audio interface with balanced  master and booth outputs. At $599.99 MSRP, Twitch expects to ship in early July.

Pioneer’s DJM-T1: Pioneer is showcasing the DJM-T1, the first Traktor-certified mixer designed specifically to natively control all of the software’s advanced new features. The hybrid mixer (controller/interface) comes with Traktor Scratch Duo 2 software and its layout mirrors the bundled software—no need for external controller. At $1,900 MSRP, the DJM-T1 expects to be available by mid-July.

Numark’s MIXDECK QUAD, M8 & Mobile DJ: Numark Industries is exhibiting the MIXDECK QUAD controller, the M8 mixer and the Mobile DJ iPod dock/portable PA. The MIXDECK QUAD is a complete DJ system controller/player with integrated effects, direct connection for iPad/iPod Touch, and inputs for CD and USB flash drives. The M8 is a 4-channel unit with integrated effects and 3-band EQ. MOBILE DJ is a portable dual-iPod DJ system with eight effects. Numark expects MIXDECK QUAD to be available Q3 and both M8 and MOBILE DJ to be available Q2.
