The dirtybird crew has just announced Long Island’s very own funk-fueled, sample-heavy rap group EPMD will be performing at tomorrow’s dirtybird BBQ party in in Brooklyn. The party is presented by Verboten and will take place on an outdoor stage at 50 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg. Get ready to smack those lips and move those hips from 3pm to 10pm, with the after-party taking place at Verboten, as well.
Rappers EPMD, aka “Erick and Parrish Making Dollars,” are flanked by an all-star cast of dirtybird players that include Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Kill Frenzy, Christian Martin, Justin Jay and Ardalan. Regarding the addition, label-boss VonStroke says, “EPMD was always one of my favorite rap groups. They invented a super laid-back flow that has been imitated by countless artists that followed after them. I’m so excited to see them in Brooklyn at our party.”
dirtybird will be serving up BBQ (while supplies last) courtesy of chef Chris McLaughlin and their San Franciscan grill-master, Grillson, flown in to NYC just for this occasion. The menu includes pig roast with pulled pork cubans and sliders, wings, baby back ribs, shrimp skewers, veggie burgers and Italian ice.
Little-known dirtybird fact: the label was founded around a grill in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park 13 years ago. The ethos underpinning the label has remained the same ever since that day: good times, good people, good food and above all, good tunes! With minimal fist-pumping and maximal booty-shaking, tomorrow’s dirtybird BBQ promises to be one of the most kickin’ parties of the summer. Don’t miss it!
