Daft Punk's New LP Debuts At #1, Sells 339,000 Copies In The USA

daft-punkWith sales surpassing one million units, Random Access Memories, Daft Punk’s first studio album since 2005’s Human After All, debuted at the top of album charts around the world in its first week. In the US, the album shifted 339,000 copies, topping the Billboard 200 Album chart with the year’s second-highest sales week for an album.

In addition to commercial success, Random Access Memories has garnered considerable critical praise across a range of publications. The album’s release comes fresh off the success of lead single “Get Lucky,” which features Pharell and Nile Rodgers and has sold over 2.5 million digital copies to date. The 13 track album, released by Columbia, includes collaborations with Giorgio Moroder, Paul Williams, and Todd Edwards, amongst others.
