Chauvet’s FlareCON Air Interface Controls Lights via Tablets & Smartphones

Chauvet DJ has further advanced wireless lighting flexibility with its new FlareCON Air hardware interface, allowing users to control any of the brand’s Freedom series of fixtures directly from their smartphones and tablets.

The system is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, as users simply have to download the FlareCON Air App and connect to Wi-Fi to link up to the lightweight device. Whenever a user submits a command on his or her mobile device, the FlareCON Air will send the signal wirelessly to the Freedom fixtures.

The interface works reliably over unobstructed distances of up to 600 feet with its 2.4GHz operating frequency, allowing users to not worry about the constraints of DMX cords or controllers. Users can manually select from 16 different operating channels as well as an Auto-select mode.

Additionally, Chauvet DJ has also unveiled three new Freedom series LED fixtures: the Freedom Par Tri-6, Freedom Par Quad-4, and Freedom Par Hex-4. The FlareCON Air is compatible with all Freedom fixtures—new and old—as well as all D-Fi-ready lighting fixture from Chauvet. The device is capable of synchronizing an unlimited number of D-Fi fixtures and receivers simultaneously, and the unit is also compatible with wired DMX protocols due to its 3-pin XLR connectors.
