Basement Jaxx Prep for ‘Junto’ Album Release with Verboten Performance

By  |

It’s been four years since the pair’s last official album, but Basement Jaxx is gearing up for next month’s release of Junto with a show at Brooklyn’s Verboten club on Wednesday, July 16. The celebrated UK act is returning after having taken time out to score two films—Attack The Block and The Hooping Life—as well as drop two releases in 2013 amidst a set of carnival-inspired live sets.

Next week will see the pair rev up the party with a midweek DJ set as part of Verboten’s Zeitgeist series, will feature support from James Friedman and Max Pask. Tickets and event details are available here.

The pair’s new album Junto—due out August 26 via Atlantic Jaxx/PIAS—comes hot off the release of their rowdy house single “Unicorn” and album preview “Mermaid of Salinas.” Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx explains the duo’s desire to unify people with the album, saying “With this album we wanted to do something that felt more at one with the world.” Stream “Unicorn” and check out the album’s tracklist below.
