Tao Beach: Carnage rocked the pool with a diverse set.
Los Angeles – Just six days after experiencing the deep craziness of Las Vegas on EDC weekend, America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ & DJ Times heads west again.

Yes, this past June 20-22, the tour engaged the throngs that attended Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Speedway, where 22 ABDJ nominees played to over 400,000 fans. DJ Times staff set up an ABDJ table at the Pioneer DJ booth, where fans voted for their favorite U.S-based DJs and earned opportunities to win a variety of prizes. Additionally, we maintained voting booths on June 20 at Marquee Nightclub for Porter Robinson and on June 22 at Tao Beach for Carnage—both events that offered plenty of energy on their own. Robinson offered snippets of his upcoming Worlds album, which features alternative and ambient leanings. Meanwhile, Carnage plain crushed it with a wildly diverse set of hip-hop, pop, dubstep, trance and rock.

EDC: Over 400,000 flooded Vegas festival.
The ABDJ noms at EDC included A-Trak, Bassnectar, 3lau, Carnage, Cedric Gervais, Claude Von Stroke, Crizzly, Dillon Francis, Diplo, DJ Dan, Flosstradamus, Green Velvet, Justin Martin, Kill the Noise, Krewella, Markus Schulz (with New World Punx), Seven Lions, Steve Aoki, The Martinez Brothers, Tommie Sunshine & 12th Planet.

This weekend promises to be a thoroughly groovy affair as we return to clubland by visiting one of America’s best venues: Avalon in Hollywood. And lucky for us, we’ll set up a table and take votes for one of our all-time favorite DJs: the legendary Roger Sanchez. Touring in support of a handful of summer releases—including his latest, “Hot” by S-Man & Sabb Present Wall 2 Wall—Sanchez will certainly strafe the Avalon dancefloor with an array of deep-house grooves. Looking forward to it, Rog!

S-Man: Roger Sanchez to rock LA’s Avalon Saturday.
Two weeks ago, America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ & DJ Times hit one of the Midwest’s top DJ-driven events—Spring Awakening Music Festival. Running June 13-15 at Soldier Field—home of the Chicago’s NFL Bears—SAMF saw 13 ABDJ nominees play on its five festival stages. They included Alvin Risk, A-Trak, 3lau, Carnage, Claude Von Stroke, Derrick Carter, Dillon Francis, Diplo, Green Velvet, Kill the Noise Markus Schulz, Pretty Lights and Steve Aoki.

Highlights included Claude Von Stroke’s quirkfest b2b with Green Velvet, Carnage’s midafternoon stadium party, A-Trak’s mainstage mastery, Diplo’s big-tune extravaganza and Kaskade’s Soldier-Field-rocking set. Thanks, Chi-Town.

Spring Awakening: Young fans voting in Chicago
As is the case at all tour events, fans can vote for their favorite DJs at a dedicated ABDJ booth or table and earn a chance to win Pioneer DJ gear, G-Shock watches and the grand prize—a trip for two to Las Vegas for the America’s Best DJ Award Ceremony/Closing Party on Oct. 12. It’ll be a night of glitz and glory, an evening whereby the DJ earning the most votes will be honored and presented with a gold-plated Pioneer DJM-900nxs mixer.

Additionally, by voting online at www.americasbestdj.us, fans can vote for up to five of their favorite and earn another chance to win prizes. See you at the next tourstop.
