Ableton Releases Creative Strategies Book for Producers

Ableton has stepped into the publishing ring with its first-ever book: Making Music – 74 Creative Strategies for Electronic Music Producers.

The book is a 340-page hardbound tome written by Ableton’s head of documentation Dennis DeSantis, who offers up 74 tips to inspire creative juices and make it through production roadblocks. The book doesn’t aim to be an Ableton Live manual; instead, it strives to be a resource for anyone who makes music, regardless of software or hardware.


The book is divided into three sections: “Problems of beginning,” “Problems of progressing,” and “Problems of finishing.” Each of the 74 chapters examines one typical issue that may prevent producers from progressing with a piece of music and offers up concrete methods for solving the problem.
