2014 America’s Best DJ Nominees Revealed
Port Washington, N.Y. – Who will be America’s Best DJ 2014?
Once again, the hotly anticipated nominee list for the America’s Best DJ title is out.
As DJ Times has done since the promotion’s 2006 inception, the magazine has released a Top 100 list that includes DJs of all genres balancing popularity and influence. Fans can vote for their favorite jocks online at here and in person at each of the 15 events during the America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ & DJ Times. (Full list of tour dates to be released Monday.)
By voting, fans can win a trip for two to Las Vegas for the America’s Best DJ Award Ceremony/Closing Party on Oct. 12 at Marquee Nightclub, where we’ll crown the new champ. Also, fans can win monthly prizes from title sponsor Pioneer DJ and associate sponsor G-Shock.
DJ Eligibility/Rules: Nominees must be current U.S.-residents who, in the estimation of DJ Times, made their most-impactful professional marks while living in the States. (Eg. – Markus Schulz was born in Germany, but moved to the States as a teenager, became a U.S. citizen, began DJing in the States, built his career while living in the States and continues to live in the States—he’s eligible. Meanwhile, Paul Oakenfold, who lives in the States, became legendary years before, as a U.K. resident—he’s not.) Also, no DJ can win the title in consecutive years—so Kaskade, last year’s champ, is ineligible in 2014. However, he can win in 2015.
